Didn't sign up for
On my electric bill with Potomac Edison I am being charged for Washington Gas Energy in which I never signed up for. No one came to my house, sent me anything or called me to sign me up. So now i have charges of 520.72 on my electric for them. And when I called them to have them send me proof where I signed my name for their service they just kept changing the subject and being very rude. Something has to be done with this company just signing people up and charging them for something they don't want.I would love for them to remove their charges from my account it's bull ***

Bad service, increase 50% price per month.
I just need them to return me to my old utility company after the 2 years contract was up. They were going to charge me and extra 50% on top of my current bill/per month to keep the contract. However, after I refused and canceled my contract, they keep sending me the bill with 50% extra each month. I just wish they being honest upfront and return my service to the old utility. The billing never show how much therms was used. It does not show when the contract end date or what month the charge should apply to. I just feel like they are not very good at organzing the billing process.

Electrical Rates Too High
Washington Gas energy is robbing me!! Yes, financially robbing me!! Their rates have escalatyed fromn their original "promis." They lured me in with a promise to save me money and now I am about to go to the poor house, all due to their exorbidant rates!! they said I could opt out of this next contract. No one answered the phone. I left a message and no one returned my call. Now they say I am forced into a new two year contract. Phooey!! I am ready to call "7 On Your Side" at WJLA- TV. This ridiculous! The phone call to 7 On Your Side is going to be made in the next few minutes. After that, I am phonein the vbetter business Bureau and then the Maryland State Public Service commission and see what I can do to file a class action suit against them.

A complete scam!
Washington Gas Energy Service claims to save their customers money, but in actuality there is NO SAVINGS. In fact when my electrical company, Potomac Edison dropped in price, WGES stayed at their fixed rate which was higher. You will end up spending more $. Don't do it! Also, "Quality Insurance Customer Care" is of no help. Be careful, they will automatically renew your contract yearly. When you want to cancel, even after fulfilling the initial contract, they will charge you $200-$400 in cancelation fees. My electrical company was charging 5.722 cents/kWh for 8 months. Washington Gas Energy Services who claim to find you the best deal and save you money wouldn't budge from 5.89 cents/kWh so my electrical bill was higher.

Proposed overcharging for natural gas
I presently pay $87.00 per month for natural gas on the level payment plan. A the end of the yearly payment cycle I normally receive a "free" month because I use less gas than they estimated. The Washington Gas Energy Services letter is providing me an option to pay $93.00 per month for a year. This will result in an annual overcharge for natural gas of $72.00. Where is the savings? They call this unique and innovative. I guess charging me more than I presently pay is unique and innovative. Are there suckers out there that will accept this "service".

Misrepresented Company Services and Fees
I signed up for energy services after listening to local radio commercials...I spoke on the phone to a representative, he assured me there were no cancellation fees or hidden fees if I wanted to stop their service at any time. I used their services from 2/2010 to 10/2012, and after their price for energy kept going up...I switched to another provider....now I am receiving a termination fee of $150.00 because I left to soon. When I called the customer service, rep told me, we had "some changes" in cancellation policies in 2/2010, and you signed up 3/2010 so the changes applied to me. NO surprise!!! If there had been and cancellation fees involved,I would of never signed up with the company. It so hard to win over a large corporation! NO way out!

$600 electric bill??????!!!!!!!!
I received my electric bill from my original electric company and it was $95. The bill from WGES was $600 and it says that it is an ESTIMATED bill.....not fair and I have NEVER used $600 worth of electric in one month. I would like to terminate my service with WGES and not deal with them. Plus when you go to call the number, it does not ring. SCAM!!!! My cousin is the one that had me switch to this company and I just paid off my electric bill and now it is back up to $600. Do they place this money in an account and give you back what you dont use or how does this work. I am NOT paying $600 and if I dont get resolution I will plaster this on Facebook, Twitter and by word of mouth. This is rediculous.

Shady representatives
These people got my wife to sign a contract that I cant get out of with out a cancellation fee. Two of their "representatives" knocked on my door one after the other. And their portion of the bill is higher than the met ed portion of ther bill. Its a scam. Stay away from those thiefs. I cant believe these people are allowed that here in America. I wish somebody did something about it. They are not going to stop untill somebody does something about this matter. I think I'm going to end up paying their *** fee, just so that I dont see them again in my like (hopefully.

Washington Gas Energy Services is not good at all.
Received our BGE Bill which charges monthly and was shocked to find a charge from Washington Gas Services for over $400.00 We don't use gas in our house all is run on electricity including the water heater. Why are we being charged such outrageous charges when no one contacted us about having their services. We never received anything stating that they would be included on our BGE bill. What is going on? We should not be charged for services we did not ask for. Our bills have been from BGE and never had anything stating their name why

Worst customer service; beware of budget billing
Since August of 2010 I tried to get out of their Budget Billing Program. After 3 months I was out of their program carrying close to $400 in credit Instead of using my credit for the month of October they forwarded to BGE the budget amount due. As a result I was charged for a past due amount. They have yet to straighten out my account. I was promised a $25 Visa gift card. Almost 2 wks later and I still don't have it. BGE does not have the credit balance like the Director said. Do not use this company! Return calls are never made. Promised emails are never sent. Now I'm wondering if they are trying to steal the rest of my credit balance. Shocked that a "Director" could be so inept.

Charges exhorbitent rates for canceling contract.
WGES is a shady company to do business with. They lock you into contract periods without your knowledge, then charge you exhorbitant fees if you cancel the contract. The charges for gas and electricity are excessive so that the bill you receive is way too high, you should find a reputtable gas and electric company to provide your needs for gas and electricity. If you have a choice, stay away from this company or you will regret the day you ever did business with them. I have regretted the day that I ever agreed to let WGES be the supplier of my gas and electricity.

Marketing scheme to senior citizens for heat
Washington Gas Energy Services us deceptive billing practices to trick senior citizens into joining a program. They make them believe that the heat bills will go up so much that they will not be able to afford heat. They have them sign a blanket contract for 1 year and at the end of the year they automatically renew unless the customer cancels. They us the utility companies statements so to trick the cusmtomer into thinking they are paying the utility company for less money. This is nothing more then a marketing scheme to deceive thousands of seniors out of money.

WGES is part of customer recruting scam
a representative of the company knocked my door and sold me a contract for gas and electrical power with the promise of much better rates than the ones I have. My bills sky rocketted. Three years after, I called the company and reported the misrepresentation WGES customer made, the company didn't agree to change their rates and threatened applying a cancellation fee. they extended their "contract" with me without any notification. the justification for this is a fine print statement on the back of sheet that was dropped by their representative three years ago. The company is part of the scam.

Utility Companies in Maryland
The Washington Gas Energy Service (WGES) in Maryland offered a contract to purchase therms to reduce my gas and electricity bills. What I was not told nor was in the contract was that the utility companies and WGES would charge me individually for therms and the price fluxtuates. My bill immediately doubled! I have filed a complaint with Pepco, Washington Gas, Washington Gas Energy Service and the Maryland Public Service Commission. Beware for this is a rip off. Because of how the program is setup my utility bill portion is low. I do not qualify for the budget program. Beware!

Washington Gas Energy Services is harrassing with repeated phone calls
A company calling itself Washington Gas and Energy Services has been calling my home repeatedly (during dinner hours), offering a deal with PEPCO for "locked-in reduced rates". It sounded too good to be true, and it looks like it is indeed. I some research on the company, and while it presents itself as a Washington Gas affiliated company, all of the comments that I found onlne were VERY negative. It sounded like a scam, and it turns out that it is. If you get a phone call, watch out, because they are very quick to solicit your PEPCO account number. Most of the negative complaints that I heard and read were from persons who had given the PEPCO account number and gotten sucked-in to a very bad deal.
